Talking Looking for Mental Help Poor rxy...

Moderators Please forgive me, I don't know where to put this.

I have a 1st gen Rx-7, I have owned it since 2000. I drove it for two years, I got in trouble she's sat for 3-4 years now. I am ashaimed. I Pay penance to King Mazda as often as I can.

Here is the issue. I know enough to tinker, to install things, and blow the seals out of a rotory engine, not on purpose of course. I am willing to pay time, gas ect for someone to come tell me if my rexy's rotary is salvageable. Right now she's in a garage, up off the floor by stands. I know the principle behind how the engines work, and find it beautiful. In that reguard alone I don't care if the inside smells like motor oil I don't care if the mpg isn't so great. I just miss a fun car to drive and would like some direction? PM me if your interested in seeing the car, and letting me know what to do before you arrive. I.E. anything that would make it easier on you. charged batteries, ect. Good day, thank you for your time..

Khaine,
Avid first gen, stuck in the garage.

If it was in good shape when you parked it, it's still in good shape. You'll need to drain all the fluids, replace the battery, probably clean the carb and start it.

If you lived closer I would for sure come turn some wrenchs with you.

But I will be more than glad to E-Wrench with you.

E-Wrench you ask??? Thats where you and I get on the internet, talk about your problems, and then you go out and fix them!!!!

Remember the best rotary mechanic lives with in ourselves!!!

I'm kinda semi-sorta in your boat khaine... I only live in Ohio. Maybe our combined sorta knowledge combined can make something of it. Another point to make is there are quite a few rotorheads in southwestern Ohio who I'm sure would love to tag along. I know some are wanting to go for a cruise. KY would be a perfect trip.

PS: I'll give myself a little more credit. I've turned quite a few wrenches before. Bullshit MacGyver fabrication is my number one talent.

Check the FAQ for my post on restoring a car that has been sitting for a few years. You're in for one hell of a project.
