i am trying to find WORKING links to online manuals for the first gen (83) would be nice...any links or info is helpful

If you are looking for PARTS manuals (VERY handy to have!) try mazdaformance.com in their RX7 section. Free downloadable PDF versions. Site even has the free viewing software to read the files...

I haven't found any "owners manuals" downloadable yet.. I bought mine off another member who had one.. I have an 84 available.. No 83's...

You can also get new owners manuals at http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7.htm for $12.00. They are a clearance item, so not all years are available, but it appears that they have all of the first gen years covered, except for '85.
