Looking for alternative to Beehive engine oil cooler

I have a beehive, and hate it.

The thing mocks me when ever I work on my car, sitting there sneering at me and I don't like the way it tries to bully around the battery. <--- reading that maybe I should take my meds.

Nope still hate it. What are my options to replace it? I would like something chrome and shiny

Thanks
Sumo

Friont mount oil cooler. Was on all 79-82 models and 84-85 13b models.
Do a search with the words oil cooler and you will find many threads on the subject.

Sumo,
Sorry to be messing with your title but I am showing you that when you use a good title of really what you are looking for that other related threads will be listed at the bottom of the page.

If you go to the bottom of the page you will now have related threads to go to. :-)

Do a search under my name for threads I've started in the archives. I have a complete 'How To' write up for swapping out the beehive for a 2nd gen fmoc. Fwiw, simply reading through the threads in the archives can teach you quite a bit. Those threads are supposed to be the 'Best of the Best', lol.

trochoid, you rock! I read your article on swapping out the beehive. Thanks to everyone who responded to me. I just want to say in my defense I did do a good 15-20 minutes of searching before I posted.

Thanks again

Latin270, I believe a member just did this recently using the stock hoses. Search thru some of the more recent threads on oil coolers. Say within the last 3 weeks.

Use of stock hoses will depend on mounting location. I mounted mine where I felt it was the best fit and I refuse to use old lines, not worth the risk. New custom made lines are cheaper for me that oem replacements or even RBs line set.

As I stated, using used oil lines is risky. For 40-60 bucks, one can have new lines made up at a decent hydraulic specialty shop. For me, the price of a rebuild easily offsets the cost. If you do choose to use the old oem hosed, the cooler needs to be mounted in the stock position, which takes a few mods die to the mounting differences between the 1st and 2nd gen fmocs.

It's because of those differences that I choose to use the muffler clamp and bracket mounting method in my writeup. Choice is your's, as is the risk of installing weak/worn oil lines.

I may just order a set of RB oil lines, but until then the stock ones look good.

Sometimes you just need a little helping hand knowing *what* to search for, and things come out much better

Any pics of what you mean by "behind that metal bar under the front end"?
