Sit down, have a stiff drink, doobie or your preffered choice of mind altering/calming chemical, then take a look at the following link. http://mazdatrix.com/eng13bsp.htm

Now if you haven't passed out or had a heart attack, you may want to reconsider the 'all new parts' idea. A rotary engine can be rebuilt with quality used parts and last many many miles, if properly treated and maintained, for about 1/3 of the cost of building one with all new parts.

For the money you would spend on a new motor in the link, I could build you a 350 hp turbo engine, installed, which is extra in thier pricing structure.

Maybe hes just one of those people that have deep pockets and demand that everything is brand new, regardless. Id do that if I wasnt a rich mover!

The cheapest source to get an all new engine or one with mostly new parts is a Mazda reman from Ray at Malloy. You will get a bargain, cheaper than the sum of new parts individually, and they contain copius new parts. Quality has been reported as inconsistent and it's advised to crack the engine open to verify build quality and ensure they used the correct parts. It's still a great bargain and a very popular option.

Question is do they sell 12A remans or just the newer 13B ones?

Eshafts can be used nearly forever.
Irons can be inspected and lapped(to a point) to better than new condition, by a skilled shop.

Theres no reason to replace these items if they didnt fail catystrophically in the last engine.Even the rotors can be cleaned and inspected to like new condition.Under normal running conditions, the basic rotor will not contact anything, thats the jobs of the seals, bearings and gears. So long as the inspection doesnt turn up any apex seal groove wear or abuse related damage, theres no reason to pony up 500 bucks for another set of rotors.

My S5 TII engine started out as a very blown up stock engine. It cost $4500 from Mazdatrix and included new rotors, seals and rotor housings. All the irons,Eshaft and oilpump were reused with perfect confidence.Porting and water/oil mods were included in the price and it came with a 3 year,30K mile warantee. It now has over 5 years and almost 50K miles on it, running 14psi of daily driven boost.......runs as good as the day I installed it.

besides, some NOS parts are no longer available... I wanted a spare motor for my SA and mazda doesn't import most of the housings or side plates anymore... I ended up getting all this thru Mazda Europe (friend works there) from Japan. Got a good price BUT I have to go get 'em in Belgium
-and I will...
