Talking Look At What I Made!!! Pics Inside!!

Well, I was sitting around my house, looking at a RB dual sheeve main pully online and thinking I wanted one. Well I went and looked under the hood of my car, and I noticed that I could "in theroy" take a hacksaw, and hold to the pully while the engine was spinning and cut off the extra 2 sheeves that I wasnt using. Well, after deciding to do that, I went in to my shop, found my extra pully to check that I wasnt gonna cut through anything important, and i noticed that there are 4 bolts on the front of the pully. I took them off, and found out that all the pully pieces seperate from one main piece that the 3/4" nut or whatever holds on. Anyway, knowing that nothing was gonna get messed up by taking these off (I remember reading something on MazdaTrix about taking off the main pully and messing up bearings, but since I wasnt loosening this main nut, nothing would happen), I took off the 4 bolts, took off the extra 2 sheeves, cut the bolts a little shorter to make up for the lack of the extra pullys, put the bolts back in...VOILA!! 2 sheeve main pully .

You don't even have to put the 4 bolts back in. Removed the ac pulley when I put in my new motor.

Look allot cleaner doesn't it with out the third ring on there. Thanks too manntis, our motor's look awesome with the dual belt pulley!

Um, if you don't put the 4 bolts back on, the pulley will come off of the hub.

Well, it may not come off, but it sure would slip like hell on the hub!

not only will it slip, but on some engines, there's no lock notch on them and if you don't mark where the holes line up ... you will be "fooked" if you ever take the distributor out for any reason. so be careful ...

Also I don't think the old pullies have an offset hole like the 86+ ones.

Actually, I've left one on. My GSL-SE had power steering, and I kind of like it. So I left it on there.

These are the last ones I've done that to.

The RB pulley is smaller than stock. Its advantage is that it underdrives the accessories.
