Look for some tips before I tackle a rebuild

So I have a 85 12a with about 140k and Im thinking about pulling the engine this summer.
Right now all the car has is aftermarket radiator, electric fan, and exhaust (stock headers). To me the car feels very slow still so I am looking into porting.
I am thinking about getting a rebuild kit from racing beat, having my local rotary shop do a full bridgeport or half(suggestions?), and finally putting a Webber carb on(48 or 51?).
Around how much power will a 12a with these mods be making?
This will be my first time pulling an engine, but do all my own work on my car so I think ill be okay if I follow along with mazdatrix's video.
I really love the concept of the rotary engine and I want to become more educated about them from this build.
If there is anything I am missing or any suggestions you have I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Mazdatrix vid is excellent. recommend $60 for Pineappleracing's water-jacket compression tester kit, allows you to pressure test all the water seals while the engine is out to be sure you have sealed up the block properly. Nice piece of mind.

AND - pineapple also offers their custom, upgrade water O-ring kit - more durable than stock. Sep since you want to boost output of your rotor-motor.
