If it was the turbo edition, it would have some promise for restoration.

Too cool ! Look how they rerouted the air filter over by the battery for cold air !!! And that clear duct to the nikki is invisible.

Only part I see I might salvage is the lid to the windshield wash tank. Yeah, that'd be about it.

It would be fun to drop a 13b turbo in it and a full rollcage. but other than that they kinda messed the car up, i talked with a guy to make my 84 gs to a convertible but it had a trunk that worked... it looked like a lot of work, and it might be cool just how would you make a soft top that looks right?? or better than tat one.

Expect a tank of fuel that's turned to varnish, a rusted fuel pickup assemby and maybe the tank as well, and the fuel pump could be crap from trying to "tune the carb" with this crap in the tank.

I only like it because they're very unique and it's a rx7. What I don't like is that it doesn't have the lines of a coupe

This may be quibbling, but... Mazda branded vehicles were handled and sold by other corporate entities (importers, distributors, dealers, etc.) containing "Mazda" in their names. (Technically, in 1983, the Japanese manufacturer was Toyo Kogyo Co. Ltd. which became Mazda Motor Corporation in 1984.) No first-generation RX-7s were originally manufactured in convertible form. However, there were a few made/commissioned by Mazda distributors and dealers in the US and Australia (and possibly elsewhere). Based on semantics, warranty, and MSO data, one could say these conversions were made by "Mazda", though not in the normal sense of a manufacturer producing them on the assembly line.

I beg to differ with your factual data on the "Toyo" -vs- "Mazda' name...
My 1984 which was produced in 1984 says "Toyo" all over it.

Also saying that the Pacific Avatar is a Mazda is absurd. Vehicle equipment modifiers are doing just that. If you walk into a Ford dealership and look at a Saleen Mustang it dosend have a Ford window sticker anymore it has a Saleen window sticker. The MSO would also reflect a Vehicle Modifier.

That is all....

And welcom to the club New Guy.....
