longrest road trip?

The only issue I had was when my power wire to my e-fan worked itself loose and fell off, but luckily I noticed the temp gauge right away before it got very warm. Great weekend, but I'm still exhausted...

A freind also took his 79 down, but had a truck and trailer hauling it. I figured the chances of both cars not being able to make the trip back was rather slim. As it turned out, he needed the trailer to get back, as he had brake issues and ruined a brake rotor.
shamfully the furthest ive ever drove mine was a 3 hour trip to calgary with a 24 inch straight pipe. Exhaust fell off half way during the trip, i had just got the car and i wanted to see what it could do. Anyways, it was one loud *** trip. by the time i got to calgary, the mall rather, everyone was looking at me like i drove a harly. Its embaressing when you have to turn off your car in the middle of an intersection to yell at some girls....
oh well i think i turned more heads, got more smiles, and set off more car alarms than i ever have in my entire life. It was a great trip...

I think I got y'all beat.
I drove my peripheral port 13B powered 1st gen -- with Weber 51IDA, 4.88 gears, no interior, full SCCA legal roll cage...and a "half" RX-7 tire/tool trailer -- from Portland, Oregon to Gainsville, Florida and back in a week and a half. This was for the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine Challenge in 2003 (I also did it in 2001 & 2002).

Drove my 79 SA up coast of Oregon from Newport to Astoria then up into Washington to Seattle and back home not sure of miles but great trip.... Honeymoon.....Would drive my car anywhere.....Is now for sale in order to buy 88FC vert......
I went 1000 miles in one day, to and from SevenStock last year.
I'd not hesitate to drive the car cross country if the purpose ever arose.Gas milage isnt the greatest, but its rock solid reliable and a comfy way to travel.

I just got back from oregon/californa boarder. I live in the bay area, across from SF. It was like 340 miles each way.
On the way back it was 108F in the central valley. Man I was starting to get heat stroke... no AC sucks. But the car ran fine, perfect. The temp was so normal, the car ran perfectly, but my mileage was a bit shitty.
No worries.
My car has a 12a, nikki carb, F-mount oil cooler.
