Hi does anyone know if there are any lighter hoods for the SAs. Even aluminium would be great. I have a steel one that wieghs a ton. found an aluminium hood for my fc. I love it.

 

I believe that one can get fiberglass although I dont remeber the dealer.
I think the hood is fine. how much weight would you really save?

Let us know the weight differences by all means. I would like to lighten up my front end too.

I will have my stock hood off for an engine transplant soon. I will post the weight of the hood. Perhaps someone will call Mariah to find out the weight of the NACA hood? Someone in California maybe? Please??

It is a race hood. It weighed 12lbs WITH the cardboard box that it was shipped in. It looks just like a stock hood. It is just the skin though, very light underbracing. It is fairly sturdy though. Having it flown into Atlanta cost me $40.

 

Oooooh!!!! 12 lbs.!!! How do they do for warping?
