Lightbulb light?

well, its 11pm at night over here. well, heres my story. i go out to get some items from my car and i noticed that the key light on the driving column came on (it never came on before?!?!). well, long story short i dont know what happened to make it come on that one time.
anyone know of something that would make all the lights come on? my dash and center consle lights dont come on either and i know its not the dimmer switch because that has been replaced.
i have also looked for the wires by the shifter that arent supposed to be plugged in and i havent found any wires. if it helps any the person that had it messed around w/ the wiring so something might not be connected.
any insights?
thanks
josh

When I got my FB none of the electric gauges worked. But over a period of a couple of months, one by one they magically started working again. The volt meter was the first to come back briefly, but it stopped working again for several weeks. But after it started working again, it never stopped. All the others still work, too. Strangest thing ever.

Do you have a copy of the wiring diagrams yet? If not there is a link to them in the FAQs and in Trochoid's sig. Can't tell you how invaluable they have been.

On my SE; the key light comes on everytime I open my door for about 15 seconds. My dome light is set to come on when my door is open. I assumed that's how the lighting works.

Yep, the key light is supposed to come on. Does the little light that lights up the key hole on the outside of the door come on? That would be really cool, none of mine do that. It might have something to do with Hawaiian humidity and the time zone, Hawaii justs gets up late.

is there an internal clock in the car? well, it was pretty chilly last night and it was 1030-11pm haha. i just removed my rusty storage bins and looked at all the wires. the aftermarket radio looks like it might be my light problem.
