lamda sensor

Am in Cape Town, South Africa about to install a series 5 turbo ii into a first gen. Imported engine from Japan, complete, even down to lamda sensor tied to one of the spark plug leads. I plan on using microtech system and would need to tap the sensor into the exhaust somewhere and connect it up. I am also planning on running leaded fuel (97 octane). Question is ; will this sensor work ok or will it get clogged up somehow by the leaded emmissions ? (Note I have removed rats nest and omp and all other unneccesary stuff)

You should probably post this in the 2nd Gen section. They are more familiar with the engine and "lamda sensor".. whatever that is, and would be able to help you more than we can. I'm going to move this over there.

AFAIK you cant use a lambda with leaded gas. It will foul it very quickly.

Jeez, I'm glad we don't have those. Is it like a stud finder, only senses sorority pledges or some **** ? I'm confused again.

I understand high octane is desirable but why on earth would you want to use leaded?

i'm at the coast. 97 leaded fuel is great. I ran my 12A on that. Remember that in 1982 there was so unleaded here in cape town. Which means my first gen has no catalytic converter. Can I run this 13B turbo at coast on 95 unleaded no cat ???

Welcome fellow South African!

You can run the 13B on umleaded fuel without a CAT.I`am running my 12A on unleaded ,seeing that i have a AFR meter with a heated lambda probe.

Go with it,it doesnt matter which type you use.
