Lack of power 84 SE
I was doing a little bit of hard driving the other night in my 84 SE and it doesn't seem as fast as it should be. 0-60 didn't really feel like around 8 or so seconds. It stoped pulling after around 80 mph and seemed like I could barely hit 100. The car has 134,000 miles and is unmodded. What could be causing this lack of power? Fuel filter? Clogged Cats? Maybe it's normal and I'm expecting too much? Thanks, Jeremy

Well that pretty much sounds like my car. Of course, I don't drive it often because of the high gas prices and my short commute to school. But when I went to watch the auto-x in oakland last week I was doing 80 on the freeway easy. I know that if I keep accelerating it doesn't push me way back into the seat or anything...
Oh yeah I just put in my K&N panel filter... but I think i might also need to check the fuel filter. Anyone else have insight?
Thanks!

Keep Right Except to Pass
Cats could be an issue. Make sure the 6th ports are opening up like they should. Good, clean air filter.
I used to drive an 82 with an SE transplant, and you should have absolutely no trouble reaching 100mph. I wired my ports open, but had stock cats.
Don't worry about your mileage. Those engines are good for 300k miles when treated right. Mine had 180K and was incredibly strong. After getting rotor #2's injector firing anyway. Amazing how smoothly they'll run on one rotor.
Cheers

that same thing happened to me. It got so bad that my gsl-se couldn't beat my friends stock gs. I had it looked at and it turned out that my rotors weren't holding compression. now i'm looking for a new engine. I hope that's not the problem for you.
