Exclamation Koni Shock Owners I Have A Question!!

ok... so... im in the middle of a full over haul on my car.

i have coilovers and what not and im replacing the shocks. i bought the adjustable konis from classic garage.com. ive intalled one no problem. just had to cut 1 tab off the bottem for propper fit. but the other one at the bottem has like a weld spot that goes around the bottem that makes the bottem about 1mm larger than the other one(other one did not have this)

i looked at the other strut and there the same number. yet this one has this "ring" around the bottem that will not allow it to fit in the housing. i lubed it up to see if i could jiggle it in but no luck it accualy got stuck and i and one hell of a time getting it out. has any one had this problem.. im about to file it down. but i was wondering if i should just return it as a defect.

thanks

i will get pics if needed i know i cant explain things to well.

I would not be the least bit suprised that although the box numbers were the same, that the second strut is the wrong part.

My buddy bought some rear KYB for his father-inlaws '85 from ClassicGarage.com and both boxes marked correctly but 1 shock was too short to be used.

Just give them a call and explain to them that they sent you the wrong part.

John

i was thinking that they were the wrong part. but they came in the same box. and the part number is engraved on each strut. from koni. so they are the same. im going to call classic garage any way. i hope they dont need me to send them back. one is already in and mounted.
