num 1. possible water pump, could just need a fan belt or tighting
num 2. if ur not burning oil, might try using 20w50
num 3. sounds like a throw out berring, or might not be fully disengaging meaning rebuilding the slave cylinder,,,
also; i am new to rx's, but im sure someone here will be able to steer you in the right direction,,,,just my 2 cents....

Here is my 2 cents worth...
1) could be the infamous starter grind. Common probelm on the 1st gens.
2) Going thru a quart every 1000 miles is normal. More than that, you might check for leaks, particularly the oil cooler under the radiator.
3) It could be the throw-out brg or transmission bearings going bad. If the grinding noise occurs only in neutral without clutch being depressed, its only the throw-out. If the noise occurs in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th but not in 4th, it's time for a rebuild or replacement.
