Where do you live? Maybe someone close to you might have a good lead for a good 7.

Most would say a full exhaust should be the first up grade, depending on how the tires are on the car you get I would agree. If the tires a questionable invest in some Sumitomo SU HTR 200 tires, they're pretty cheap and IMO a good tire. They're holding up well with my beast until I get some rubber for my 16's.

General, where are you from? "In Bed" doesn't help much for location.

And "I'm here, where are you" is any better?

I've bought two 7's so far. One for $200 and the other for $400. The $200 I call teh Ugly Duck for obvious reasons. The other is in good shape. A GS and GSL respectively. They are around, keep looking.

I'm not the one looking for a car, so my location is irrelevant, now isn't it?

well... i live in western massachusetts. I'll have to change my user set up later. My orginal plan was to get a tII but there out of my budget..for now. One step at a time. My first ever experiance driveing an rx7 was 87? 88? something like that. I know it was a 2nd gen. I drove it from august to march..straight through our winter. It had 19" alloys and the car as in total dismay. It was the car that looked grate but would last you.. 4 or 5 months or untill your next inspection. The car wasn't mine but I beat in it like a numerous rain drops hitting a spider web. That car was still strong after all I put it through.

Now I want my own. I want to have a 1st gen with a tII in it. I want it to have a nice quiet look to it..like those girls that are nerdy and weird untill they get in bed

My plan(basically)
1. get car
2. clean it, restore it, blahh..blahh..blahh
3. make plans, restore bank account, start search for everything to do a tII swap
4. recheck plans to make sure everything runs smoothly. then do it
5. paint car, finish details
6. think about getting a 2nd gen

Is this a logical way to do things?

Oh the joy of finding these cars cheap.

In the last month, this is what I got:

86 white FC = $375
79 red SA = $340

And I'm picking up a smooth running Gold 80 SA tomorrow for $300.

I wonder who else has a ton of these cars?

You got ripped off!! I bought two 1st gens. The first was $200 the second $400 and I got ripped too.

In this week's trader (local free sales paper), there was a guy in Myrtle Beach selling two 1st gens, one ran one was missing the tranny. Both for $400. There was another for $150, a couple at $800 (they must be smoking something). There were some 2nd gens too but I didn't pay any attention since I like the 1st.

I can check to see if the guy still has the paper if anyone wants more details.

Maybe you should change it to "The state of denial".

Like some strange magnetic force they seemed to be attracted to to certain people. At one point I had 5 FB's one FD, 3 bricklins, 2 ford exploders and still needed to bum a ride to work (had a FC when they first came out and didn't like it). She was very tolerant but there have since been significant fleet reductions, in the interest of domestic tranquility.

WOW!!

All i really want to do is have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I just want to have one of each. Everyone is so "hard" here...I remember a gls near by for $1500..and it was in bad shape! My first was a 2nd gen. I liked it alot especially in the turns..with a little bit of snow on the ground...I could drift going under 20mph! I fell in LOVE. Then in the summer i got to ride shotgun in my friends 1st gen..all I could say was aaHHHHHHhhh!!! I think I got whiplashed before he hit 4th ..before I knew it I could here the engine and we were glideing on the highway. We were doing +65.

Ya'll have so many..I just started my quest..once I get ONE, you bet its on! I feel like the little kid on the steps waiting to get my frist bike!

i must have to anti-magnetic force in me..;(

What the hell is a Bricklin???

2 Ford Exploders? You do know that Ford makes the Ford Explorer, right? Should have learned your lesson with the first one. You just can't teach some people

LOL Ford owns part of Mazda too. The exploders were cheap and I made $$ when I sold the one. Since you asked, the Bricklin is a gull-wing exotic sports car. ~2800 were made in Canada from 1974-76. The club site is http://www.bricklin.org

Part of?? I thought they owned them outright. Along with Saab, Jag, and the rest.

Cool looking car. Kind of a cross between RX-7~280Z and a Deloran? Fairly heavy pig though. Only 175 hp out of a 351??? I hope that's a misprint.

I thought it was 34% last I heard.

The 351 was smogged quite a bit in stock form but obviously it can make a lot more power. One person in the club was putting in a triple rotor but I haven't heard of his progress lately. I think it's too heavy for a rotary.
