Thumbs down This just made my day...

So the other evening i took my front wheels off,to inspect the amount of pad left on the brakepads.

I was shocked at what stared back at me.The pads were fine, but the disc, uummm well lets just say its fucked. (lease refer to the attached pics) The one side is cracked right trhough,to the vented passage....

I decided to pull the other side as well, and see how its looking. On the passenger side (Rhd) I saw the strut was entirely blown (oil everywhere)I looked at the part where the strut mounts to the hub.The one bolt was entirely incorrect, and it looked like a intake manifold one, with a nut.It wasnt even bolted down properly

Other than that,i`am quite excited to have all new tie-rod ends, and struts and discs (which will have to be custom made,as i cant find any here)

I think it will have a bit more ride comfort then!

Sorry about the pic quality.

well, to be quite honest,i`am not driving it hard.Every now and then i`ll let the revs climb a bit.

This was from previous owners abusing it.I havent even driven it 3000 miles....

Ps: Anyone have any suggestions on discs i can machine to fit?

www.tirerack.com and www.racingbeat.com

They sell rotors and pads.

I think BOB was just playing around, you're supposed to get it up to redline a lot because if not you'll allow a lot of carbon deposits to form in the housings and from what I've learnt so far thats a verrrry bad thing.

Thats a pretty common failure on 1st gen front rotors. I'm sure you can find some discs. That ebay place would prolly ship em to you. The slotted and crossdrilled ones.

The strut to hub mount is done with 2 different length bolts. Thats VERY important to fix correctly. Mazda or Victoria british should be able to supply those for you.

Paradox : Actually what happens is : You brake really hard for an extended time,so the disc gets hot as hell. Then you apply the brake (example:at a traffic light) the pads keeps the disc from cooling down ,and a crack forms in the spot where it couldnt cool down because of the pad making contact.

Guys i need some help please. ....I really cant afford to buy discs from overseas and have them sent here.So i need options of which discs are allmost the same,so that i can machine them to fit.I have access to a lathe, and milling machines.
