Just had our 82 RX7 delivered !!!!!!!

Hello Everyone,
Short story......
I had a 79 RX7 back in high school, loved that little car, went to college, sold car, got married, had 2 boys, had many other cars during that time, all were fine cars (hondas and bmw's).
Then.........
My sons and I saw an old rusted out RX7, on a flatbed, while driving down the thruway,
I started telling my wife and kids stories about that little 79 RX7.
Looked on EBAY for fun, searched around, talked to a few people,
The next thing I knew, my 15 year old son, found an 82 RX7 from California, with 44000 original miles, all original paint, no rust, dents or dings, mint interior, clean as a whistle car!!! (so the owner said).
So.........
The whole family drove a few hours to check it out,
Guess what.........
The owner was wrong, It is even in better shape than he described!!!!
Bought it on the spot, last week, just got it today.
I will take some pictures tomorrow, and attempt to post them here.
We are looking forward to this (rather simple) restoration.
Just wanted to say "Hello" and I am sure glad to have found this group!

These cars seem to have a way of getting under a person's skin. No known cure......

if you open the pics with paint and click on the image tab on top and bring it down by 50% or so depending the pic size

That's a nice find (congratulations to your son). Looks like you will be back to the fun of driving an RX, if you can get it away from the kids long enough!

A few more pics

Woodonastick: Hey....... I am not that old!!! LOL
The boys can't drive just yet, so for now it's all mine
The last picture shows a fuel pump disable/enable rocker switch the last owner put in. Anyone know where I can get a new side dash piece without a hole in it? I want to put this back to all original !!
I also need a dome light cover.
Again.........
Thanks for the info on resizing pictures guys, I knew it had to be easier than I was making it

Very very clean. I can remember when my FB was nearly that clean, man I miss those days. I have a dash cap that you can have so long as I can peel my old fog light switch off of it. I have a dome light cover too but I think the clips are broke, it was never on when I bought the car but I have it LOL. Keep her good and clean, one day I'd like to restore a GSL to that quality

F-ing mint! Your son really did find a good deal. Just curious on how much it cost, considering it is so damn clean.

Darn good deal, considering the condition it's in.
As for an exhaust, it's hard to beat the quality and durability of the Racing Beat system. Just be prepared for sticker shock, as it's a little pricey. Good thing about their system, it is designed to bolt in place, without making major mods. In fact, it actually retains part of the orginal pipe. If you ever go to sell the car, it's easy to swap the original stuff back on to retain the value of the car.

I'm not a huge fan of the RB system normally, due in part to it's cost. But in your case, it would be worth it. The sound isn't much louder than stock, but it flows way better.

Thank You Rogue,
That is exactly what I am looking for. I do not want to modify this car unless I can put it right back to OEM.
Thanks

Keep the fuel switch! many of us install one just to help prevent/deal with flooding issues.

One thing you may want to consider is ditching the beehive oil cooler for a front mount unit from an 81-82 GSL
