just baught a 84 rx7

its been sitting for 3 years. guy who got it said he parked it let it sit fora month and couldnt get it started again. if i can not get this one going my roomates uncle has a good motor and tranny that he will give me. im gonna start working on it in the next few weeks..


sry for the shitty camera phone pics...

plans are to get it running... replace drivers side door.. replace passenger front fender... new paint job... interior is really good

any tips on ways to get her running... im thinking it is just carbon locked.. drain gas... going to rebuild carburator.. new belts hoses etc... any other pointers.. this is my first rotary

identical motor as what is in this one.... excpet he has been starting it once a week he used this car for its interior.. parts...

Yep, its a 12a engine unless he did some conversion. You can see if its the 12a or 13b on the rotor housings etched on the there. Welcome to the forum. Check for rust behind the storage bins, wheel wells, everywhere. Check out the faq page,archives and get used to the search button. God bless

Good luck with the car. Does it have disc brakes in the rear? What options does it have with it? Are you going to keep it that color, or paint it?

well i just towed it home... yes it has disk brakes in the rear... ac.. power windows..... and cruise control

get rid of that horrid paint first off, lol. we'll help you get it running. try an atf treatment to free the engine up a bit and start with your basic maitenance and replacing of filters and fluids and you should have a good start. got any pics of the engine or interior?

im going to do the atf tomorrow.. if it doesnt rain... ill take pics of the body pieces im going to need to replace.. adn ill take some interior pics as well.


o yea when i get it running and body work done im going to paint it silver or black
