I've been gone a while

Sorry rotor heads but I have been gone for almost a week and I think I have lost out on a bunch fo fun. I had to take off from work and do some good ole cummunity service. People don't throw your trash on the road cause then i have to pick it up.

Well in case you have not heard or seen i snapped a drive shaft and shattered a rear end. So i had to swap that out. Which was quiet fun does anyone know how much going from an 85 rear end to an 82 will change my speedos readings??

Sterling if your reading this look into paxton supercharger i have some things to share with you.

Also mantis I thought I saw something about some new stickers. You know me more stickers more hp!!

Well all let me know what i missed. Also i will be in gatlinburg tennesee the end of this month so is there any 1st gens out there that wanna give me a ride. It is a business trip. Or is there any one in the area that needs some parts i will pack them and bring them with me.

sterling you are nto to impressed i take it. I wondered across one it could be real easy just to bolt on. Plus it gave me a a free sealed carb box. that is what i like iws their carb boxes. Have you ever thought of trying to find to seal your carb could be easy. But what do you not like about them. Granted i can get the thing together quick but still have little understanding about some of the benefits of different sc's. i know that a paxton is a centrifigal and eaton is a roots. and i know that roots has more power in the low end. and cetrifigal has more power on the top end. There it is. I need more power on the lower end therefor i need an eaton never mind but i thought there carb box might make you liek easier. so how does the project go?

thanks
iknow i should not be asking but I just don't know.

Man, you have GOT to start editing your posts!

Do a search on the web. You'll hit on a site where this is done to a second gen rex (the Paxton deal).
The brackets, ect are shoddily made. People complain that parts are missing. Hell- they even included a pulley that was too small for the rotary application, and some have blown up internally. (Just what I've read. I have no hard data.)
I've never seen the picture of the carb box (can't remember) but I guarantee I can do a better job...And that's without having seen it.

In fact, I'm positive that all of the components that I'll be fabbing for my project will far exceed their best found counterparts in quality.
Sorry guys. I realize it sounds like I gotta big fat head, but the truth of the matter is that I'm so disappointed by the CRAP that's out there. It is for this reason I have this confidence...Not because I think I'm so good, but because I think they absolutely suck!

As far as the roots vs certifugal thing; well...You all know my stance on that. Centrafugal superchargers are the biggest, stupidest, absolute waste of time! If you want the characteristics of a centrafugal SC, then for Gawds sake, TURBOcharge the bitch!

If you need the low-end grunt that does'nt just fade away by peaking out before engine redline, then you need a BIG Positive Displacement SC! That could be a vane type, too. The vane SC might've had its day over the roots, but that was back when the roots were all "old school" design (IE, very inefficient). Now the roots that are offered are much much better than their old grandfathers, but not much has been done to advance the vane type PD SC.
Now the roots (Very generally speaking, here...) is king.
Eaton has done this by saturating the automobile market place with easy to find OEM blowers that are very efficient (again; compared to "yesterdays" roots blower). When you compare the Eatons designs of tri lobed helical rotors along with their porting configurations to that of the Camden kit...
...well for me the Eaton is the only way to go.
