Its hard to say GOOD BYE

Well folks..... Today I replaced the clutch slave cylinder and was gonna take her in for her rebuild and guess what.... I caught a flat tire!! Then as I was on my way to the tire shop... the engine started acting wierd. Some of you all know I lost an apex seal on the rear rotor no too long ago. Well it seems that something is starting to give on the front rotor. I love my 7 and all but this cuts it. I am gonna sell her!!!!! yes SELL my 7. BUT I am gettin another one. SOOOOO heres the deal... She starts and runs (not very well anymore). I'd like to get $700 for her and I really would like to keep the rims (those offsets are kinda hard to find). Everything is mechanically sound the interior could use some work (the seats are 100% tho, no radio and the left headlamp motor wont work). Basically the $$$ is to cover the spoiler kit which cost me an arm and a leg.
So if anyone is interested just reply and bla bla bla U all know the rest.
Here are several pics of the 7 http://members.aol.com/binbintolcio/my_baby.htm

DUDE! Your rebuilding the engine anyways, Why sell the car because of engine problems... if the cars only running on 1 rotor of course its not long before the 1st rotor gives out after its forced to spin the 2nd rotor which all its doing is dragging... COME ON MAN! Dont giveup on your baby!

If your simply going to get another 1gen, I'm with Serzy one this one.

Why take the chance when buying another 1gen that the owner didn't take care of it right, and then the motor (or something else) goes out on you shortly after you buy it, and you end up in the same boat you're in now. Instead, why not take the money you would spend on another 7 and do the motor rebuild (or have one done for you). Granted, this isn't cheap, but it may be the way to go.

Now, if you are unhappy with the condition of your current 1gen (body for example), or you want to get a different gen 7, then I can see selling it instead...

Just my opinion.

We all go through this dissappointment and frustration from time to time. Sometimes we just get a little bored of what we've got and feel like playing the field for a while (i.e. car, women). But you have to get through it. Too many of us have sold their cars only to regret what they have done. Take a deep breath, count to seven.......eventually you'll feel better.

Why go with an unknow quantity?

Dont' give up!
as they say in Japan, "Gambate!"

dude! if you are gonna get the motor rebuilt anyway, for god's sake just keep the car. Trust me, a flat tire and a headlight motor isn't jack compared to what I've gotta do to my little baby to get her right again, but damnit I'm sticking through it!

Get that rebuilt motor, and then go tear *** around in her and I promise you won't regret it!

That, and stop tempting me, I'd almost buy it just to have the body kit

Good luck, hang in there, these little cars can be a pain now and then, but that's all part of lovin them. (strange, just like women, that.)

keepin the faith! (body damage and all)

if you were not located in ny i would seriously consider buying it for the swap that i may do here soon.. but i would have to agree with the other guys here on this one... do not sell.. that is definatly a piece of work, and i think you would be happier getting it running again, rather than moving on. unless, that is, you have decided that you have done all you can with that one and it is time to move on to another project..

there is my .02

How about just swapping in something like a turbo V-6? That would rock. And cost not a whole lot. Dont give up now! Give that bad boy the speed it needs to back up the hot looks.

if i remember right, yellowjacket is anti turbo(or at least anti fuel inj). now, not too long ago, someone posted a site where you could get j spec motors, cheap! i saw the 87-88 13b turbo with all the fixin's for $850! it'll give you a bhp of 187..... that's a pretty darn good starting point. a couple mods later, you're pushing 250hp and putting all those cool wings and airdams to use! come on yellowjacket, say it.... "PIKACHU.... i choose you!"

jeez, that was cheezy, but i couldn't resist!

Exclamation News on my 7

Well after much calming down and sitting in her for a few minutes I apologized and promised to fix her back up. The other I was GONNA buy is an 83 GSL NON 13B black with a HOLLEY carb and intake! The guy only wanted $1300, but his engine wasnt ported. Im gonna take her over to T&R next week and have the engine rebuilt AND ported for about the same price! And afterwards she'll get a new paint job (a shade brighter of yellow) and then I'll get to work on the interior.
Thanks to all you fellas for your input and opinions except for ROTONOMO.... Swap in a V6, the nerve! Who in their right mind would ruin a 7 with a boinger??? Go suck a piston.

COMING SOON!! PIKACHU GS (ha ha ha)

Okay, I realize that this comment was most likely in jest -- however, as we have had more than enough trouble in the past going down this road, I'm gonna step in before anything has a chance to snowball.

Please remember that we are all here trying to help each other out. That's what this site is all about, and that's why we are all here. That was merely a suggestion he was throwing out there, just like the rest of the posts in the thread.

I'm not trying to single anyone out here, just wanted to put the kibosh on this before it spirals out of control.

Thanks
