Talking It's alive!

after working on this beast for 9 months it finally runs. my 84 gsl-se runs very well. when i bought it the eletricl was all messed up. for example i could try to turn on the lights and the passanger window would role down. Also the engine was gone. the rear rotor housing was beat to hell and the rotor basically was missing all it's seals. the rotor would have needed to been replaced along witht he housing. so i decided **** on that idea. i went and bought a street ported 13b out of an 88 non turboed rx-7. it went in the engine bay easily with the front cover, oil filter, and pan off of my 84 13b. but after that it went down hill. i had a hell of a time with the vacum lines. and the injectors. i was tring to get the engine to run with an 84 ecu. well i threw out the egr so i had vacum for the timing advace on the distributor. i swaped out the exhaust manifolds so the stock exhaust would bolt up. then to get my filter and stuff to work i used addic ducting to connect my throtle body to my air filter(gheto rigged). my friend build me a fule managment system by taking inputs from various sensors then making the apropriate outputs to the injectors. i needed this so i oculd use all 4 injectors instead of 2. i restored the interior and now all i have left is to touch up the paint.

9 months and about $3000 later i have a nice car. it's fast too
i raced 2 cars and won one.
first race was against a 93 nissan sentra SE-R (has a sr20de engine in it soon to be sr20det)
the second i lost but not by much. it was against a 91 eclipse gst with a after market turbo making about 18 - 20 psi. i kept up though.

i'll be posting pics soon

Good work

For me, it's gonna take 3g just to bring it back to stock working order!

I'm glad you've got an awesome Rx7 to beat the **** out of other racers/ricers with :P

Ya know, theres a guy in my neighborhood that has an -SE that he said he would sell me cheap that I wanted to buy... It also has all kinds of electrical problems and had a small engine fire... I now have all kinds of ideas turning in my head as to what to do with it .
