Interesting wiper issue

I can't be the only one whose had this problem, and since we don't have wiper relays.....

Anyhow, if i use my windshield wipers on the first speed, they go up about 3 inches and stop, and wont go any further.

The medium speed and max speed work fine, spray/clean mode works, and manual one time wipe works (where you push it back)

also, and i don't know if this is normal - if i turn the wipers off at any time they just stop right there, and don't return to their home position. is this normal?

Sounds like your intermitent function is not working properly. It is controlled by the CPU. Low and High speed is direct from the switch. I believe the return to rest function is controlled by the CPU also. CPU is located under the dash against the left kick panel. The FSM has info about it in Chapter 15 Body Electrical.

Factory Service Manuals, Wiring diagrams and other interesting literature can be downloaded from either of these sites.
