Interest? Rotary air vents

So I came up with this idea to replace the factory air vents with something a little more.... rotary. So a few CAD designs later I ended up with this. It's 3-D printed and made out of strong & flexible laser sintered nylon plastic. It has a matte finish but can be primed and painted to give it a glossy look. I'm gonna toy around with some different paints to get just the right finish. If there was enough interest I might consider making some for sale.

It fits the early model FB interiors, the photos are from an '82 I will be developing bits for all models in the near future if this takes off.

It bevels and moves like the stock piece, it doesn't spin within the sleeve though

I will be hosting them through a website called Shapeways, they handle all the printing and shipping and their price is $38 a piece. I still need to make a couple changes to the part but once they are fine tuned I will have them up for sale.

Wow that is amazing! I am so envious of the SA interior - super sexy curves. I'd definitely get a set if i had the dash for it.

I'm going to investigate S3 vents tho - mine are busted and need replacing.

3D printing FTW!

I'm S3 interior (84-85), but if I was S2 or S1 (79-83) I'd be all over these!

Super cool. Most incorporations of the rotor that people try to add to rx7s end up looking cheesy to me.. love the sleeper factor of this mod..youd really have to look to notice
