interchangability and availability of rotor housings

who knows if you can use FB housings with irons from an SA? I need some housings, since mine are trashed and the 79 ones have been discontinued or whatever. Mazdatrix sells them seperatly- for about $370 each.

Also, if anyone has any in good to great condition, let me know, cause i will need them fast!

thanks
brendon

All pre-85 housings and irons will work together. Just have to use 12A rotors with 12A rotor housings and vice versa. In other words the FB stuff will work fine for you.

The 81-85 rotor housings can be used in place of the 79-80, so long as you do not need to to have the thermal reactor functional. The early housings have the exhaust port that feeds into the TR, otherwise, they are pretty much the same. The later housings do not have these extra ports, but tend to have a little better chrome surface inside.

The 79-80 rotor housings have been discontinued by Mazda

And NO I am not telling who thay are...

Housings are also interchangable front to back, right?

If one looks at the lower part of the FB housings they will notice an offset angle machined blind hole that is started. That is the same spot the that is bored into the exhaust port for the thermal reactor.

The 79-80 housings will interchange front to back as long as you don't want to use the stock emissions system and the air port in the rotor housing will have to be plugged.
