intake manifold to engine gasket fitment

I was looking at my engine and the center intake ports on the gasket are MUCH smaller than the actual ports on the engine.

The ports on the manifold are small as well.

Would it be value added to cut the gasket out and port the intake to match the engine.

Please advise.

I would port the intake as neathly as possible making just about the same size.. I have actually seen it done, but the ones i have seen have been very nasty of a job.. ;p (take your time and do it well)

That's not unusual for early engines. Mine's the same way. The center ports got smaller on the irons on later engines.
