I dont think there is a kit, if there is save the money and buy a multi meter, then carfully find which wire carries power when key is in on possition (becomes power lead, i used the same wire for the illumination as well, five years and no problems yet) turn key to off and find wire that still has power (becomes memory) find ground wire with continuity tester, follow wire remove and place stereo harness ground wire in that location (i belive its behind the ashtray), you can locate speakers with a 9v battery (connect speaker wires to 9v battery and listen to which one gets the static). that should be that. solder your connections it will save you time later

There is a wiring harness kit out there. I have an '85 -SE and when I buy from Crutchfield, they send over everything I need, including a wiring harness that plugs into the stock radio's setup. And, they told me how to bypass the amps under the storage bins and bypass the equilizer stick in the center console.

How do you bypass these? I was just going to remove them.

I can't remember what I did back there, it's been a couple years since. I'll take a look at it later today when I'm working on my car to see.

Ah, the infamous stereo picture, that is the one. If you follow that diagram its VERY simple to do it.
