Installing new clutch

Hi I'm installing a new clutch disk and presure plate. should the presure plate pintch the clutch disk when i bolt it down to the flywheel? I compared the new presure plate to the old one they are the same except the surface where the disk rubbs is thicker (IT"S NEW AND NOT WORN) any info on how this should look would be great thank you.

Try and get a haynes manual for the first gen. You can get them from ebay. They explain everything and show pics in the process

Yes, that is what the clutch looks like when it's engaged in the car. Be sure to check the FSM for proper torque settings.

Yes that is how the clutch works when the clutch is not depressed the plate is locked in to place. so as you bolt the assembly back together the clutch is not pressed so the clutch plate would be locked.
