Installed a bunch of stuff and wow!

Got my car on the road after a long weekend. It received:
  • Tokico Blue shocks (replaced the original factory shocks).
  • Rotary Engineering strut brace.
  • Racing Beat header
  • Racing beat Pre-silencer

First, the car rides SOOOO much SMOOTHER and QUIETER! It feels like a new car! I knew the shocks would help but freaking wow!

The strut brace really holds the front end down when going into a hard turn. Very nice. The car feels overall much tighter.

Finally, the RB.... sounds sweet (my mechanic friend says it sounds like a pack of angry bees). Still using the stock muffler, so that's surely restricting it a lot. Got a Magnaflow that will go on soon, which should add some zip.

Thx for all the feedback folks!

Congrats on the upgrades man. You've got to bring that thing to one of the autocrosses one of these days.

Sure about that? Looks like an RB brace to me:

http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=14016

If I am not mistaken, the RE brace looks like the one Jamie made:

I believe trochoid has an RE brace to confirm.

I could be wrong.... it came from a huge stash of stuff that I got from used from one guy. He said it all came from RE (much of it had original RE boxes to prove it) and other items (like exhaust) were validated by RX-7 Club members via pic as RE goods. Again, I could be wrong!

Confirmed, that's an RB brace. The RE brace can be found in the widebody link in my sig.

I have a RE brace on my car.
Ray Green posted a pic in his thread "White Becomes Silver" in this section (I think it is on page 2 now).
Look on Page 5, post #121, pic 7, labelled "For comparison here's Greg the Younger's set up".

I would not expect the brace to make such a difference. It really works magic.

I've long considered the addition of a strut bar. It always came down to the question of how much do they really help. Are they worth their weight? Maybe someday I'll try one and find out for myself.

That one part's worth $300 alone, so serious score on that trove of treasure.

I remember when I first installed RB Springs and Illuminas in place of the 25 year old springs and worn out shocks. The difference was phenomenal.

Quieter with the header + presilencer? Really?

I've got the header + dual presilencers on a stock muffler (better one is coming soon), it sounds awfully tinny.
