im thinking about doing a blowthrough turbo

but im looking for something i can rely on at some point. i'll be replacing the entire fuel system, maybe the entire ignition system. a rebuild engine, with a streetport. a rebuild, turbo prepped carb, new air filter, new oil cooler, maybe a new radiator. i'll basically be restoring the car.........only not every little thing. the thing is i dont want to be having problems every god damn week like i have been with this thing. i have a feeling its because nothing to this car has been done right. and if you want things done right, do them yourself right? well i'll be trying to at least. is this a good idea? i dont have the money to go EFI, so is the turbo even a good idea? or should i just leave it N/A? (i want good power, and a good power range)

also, is there anything else i should replace while im at it?

I remember about 7 months ago, everyone and thier brother was going to do this mod.... Then they realized that it still costs over $700 to "do it right" and at that price why not shell out an extra $300 for a J-spec T2 motor for 2/3 more power?

becuase i wouldnt know how to wire a EFI motor in a first gen, plus you'd have to pay another 300 for a FMIC, buy all the EFI fuel parts, the money to rebuild it.......i could keep going

If I ever decide to swap my stock 12A out of my GSL, I'm fairly certain I'll go old school and drop a ported 13B and run a Weber IDA or modified Nikki. Pretty straightforward, gets you to about 180-200 ponies and is fairly reliable.

If I decide to go forced induction after that, I'll more than likely opt for a supercharger, but that's a BIIIG if....
