I'm an IDIOT....

could someone please eduacate me in the ways of the 13b? I want to know what I should do to the motor as I am rebuilding it and wanting around 300whp....I have lurked for quite a while but still seem to be missing key facts...if anyone wants to help, please do and if anyone would like to poop on me go ahead I most likely deserve it....suspention up grades are welcome as well.

I am going to start road course next season(or whenever I get the car ready) so I have some ideas on what I need to do but still not sure. the shop I work at can do turbo kits per the application and if that is an option I would like to know the results I would be looking at. also, what is difference in nitrous when it comes to rotory motors.

thanks for the help-Erik-

300 HP? thats either a good port P-Port probly with headers, intake, nice exhast, good ignition, and lots of other work.

or turbo.... many turbo options, FI turbo, porting, carb, ect...

you want to stay N/A or go turbo?

thats the main question.....

the second main question is how much you got to spend?

yeah, the original plan was to go turbo. I have around $500 right away that I can spend, however I will be able to drop like $300 a month untill it's done, And I wont get tired of the project(knock on wood) I love the car and it will be the shop autoX car since we have the 83' tt350 for the drag car, we need a road car to show at other events...I also need to rebuild the tranny....what should I do? find a rebuild kit or buy a replacement?

on the motor rebuild, where would I go to find a kit? does Atkins carry what I would need?

thanks for the thoughts-E-

edit-I am also building a (megasquirt?) standalone unit to take care of the fuel problems I might have. no waveing of the BS flag please my boss has built one for both his honda and the rx7

You can buy damn near anything from Atkins or Rotaryshop. You'll need to decide if you want to upgrade stationary gears, what kinds of apex seals to go with, and what rotors to use before you get started. Then, sort out what turbo setup you want. Talk to Atkins - they can help you with everything.

The first thing you have to ask is why have you set your sights on "300whp"?

These cars are very light, and respond well for autoX with less hp than that!

You don't *need* 300hp, but if you want it, it's do-able for a few grand. From what I've seen, only drag racers want numbers that high...

Someone smack me if I'm wrong?

no smaking needed...your totally right about the numbers and my reasoning behind that numbers is I have found that if you shot for a certain horsepower you normally end up lower than wanted so I figure that if I shot for 3hundo I'll get around 220-250.......

I also wanted to ask what setups you guy's have seen with something close to what I'm looking for...

Peace-E-

You can easily get 220HP off of a goot streetport 13b.
Do all the bolt on goodies and that should be all the power you will ever need for an auto-x car. For a road race car a bridgy port would be awsome, coming in arould 280hp.
