Im getting scammed!!!

This sucks,

Im getting scammed by the guy who sold me my engine.

I paid him 1125 to ship a 91 turbo motor + a gsl-se oil pan and front cover to a shipping station here in minneapolis
It took him almost 6 weeks to ship the engine. Now The engine is here in minneapolis but I cant pick it up because he hasnt paid the shipping yet (how the **** do you ship a engine without paying shipping is what I want to know)
I also dont know about the pan or fron cover, they were supposed to go ups.

THe guy is a member of this board

gen1mike

Here is the post for the engine.
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=153010

I checked the feedback forum and Looks like someone else might have been screwed by him.

This sucks ***, Im out $400 plus if he screws me on the shipping and pan and cover.
And I haven't seen the engine yet.

If anyone knows gen1mike personally, tell him to get his **** together.

Are you sure he wasn't shipping Cash On Delivery?

But then again, I guess they would have asked YOU for the money instead of saying he hasn't paid.

That is pretty interesting. You're sure the engine is sitting at the station already?

are you serious?

Yeah I'm the one that gen1mike ripped off. I bought a GSL-SE suspension conversion from him. He sent me a rusted bent differential. And a box of rusted other parts.

He is taking way too long to give me a refund and I havent been able to get ahold of him for over a week now.

82street racer, I have dug up alot of info on the guy and I'll help ya out. Send me a PM and I'll tell you all I have discovered on the guy. Including contacts, phone numbers, and a whlo bunch of other stuff.

its not called cash of devilery with freight, its called freight collect...

i think with the connections I could get I should get into this motor thing, Im sure I could offer a better deal, all I need is some capital so I could buy like $10k worth at once, thats the only way they sell them I believe from japan...

Im really for you guys' troubles, Ive sold 2 motors on here and NUMEROUS other parts, I think Id be a trusted one to buy from, im gonna check into this. I always wanted to see a 3 rotor, so if I got into it, i could possibly be able to kiss one until i sold it

yeh, you have the post in the feedback section right?

I know the engine is there by the tracking number and I have called twice.

Gen mike just posted on the forum yesterday, the last time before that was two months ago so I hope I hear from him in the next day or so.

Here is how the pricing went

the engine was $825
the front cover and pan were $50
and shipping was $250

I paid him 1150 by paypal. But through his freinds account.

When I lost contact with him, I email his friend and then He got the engine shipped.

This kid has a FD now too.

******* rich kids, no respect at all.

I paid for my car and everything on it in FULL.

I am very proud of this, I live in a extremely rich area and not a day goes by that I see a rich kid driving some dream car.

I usually dont see the same car twice though. Either there getting new ones or there crashing them. Most likely the latter.

That's why you put a down payment on a motor and don't pay the rest until you see it done in your hands.

Shoulda bought from Pineapple.

since it crossed state lines that was a federal offence

I saw the thread in the feedback section
someone needs to deal with him

the # for the FBI is on the first page of the phone book

hopefully they will scare the crap out of him, teach him a lesson and get your money back

looks like your gonna have to cough up whatever the shipping charges were on the motor and get it out before they do something with unclaimed freight....

then id drive to where he is, and show him your pete rose edition baseball bat

get your parents to back you up and you should be ok age wise
Interstate commerce laws fall under the federal trade commision, they work together with the FBI on these things

call em up they and tell them what happend
they will want to talk to you in person and will send someone
have copies of e-mails and PM's for them and show them the parts that you did receive, they will advise you on whether it constitues fruad or not and tell you what to do about it.

i think of it as good incentive for people to be good buyers/sellers

ummm hello?

reverse the pay-pal transaction

paypal is being sued right now for letting millions of customers do this and you still can.

let him answer to his freind, he will probably pay him before he pays you back.

if you made the pay-pal payment with a credit card then your really in the good and it will work 100%, you have to call your CC company and report internet fraud and explain you made a purchase and items were not received.

they will reverse the transaction on pay-pal and pay-pal will imediatly reverse the transaction on him.

its all too simple.

maybe I shouldnt be saying all this ?

oh well

Something like that just happened recently to me too, hornbm. I won an eBay auction for an oil pump and sent the guy a money order. The date on the money order stub is April 1st and I mailed it the next day (I think it went out on the 3rd?). Now it's already 420 (lol!) and a couple emails later, with no reply from him mind you, I think I got screwed. I can't really complain though compared to you guys, but this guy is in Somerset, OH so I guess I could make a big deal out of it if I wanted to. Who knows. Maybe he's 'out of town' or some BS?

BBB is toothless. All they do is keep a file on complaints of companies that register with the BBB. Individuals and non-registered companies slip through the cracks.

HornBM found his fathers phone number. His father is a lawyer, which might be good or bad.

Im going to talk to him today and try to work it out before I bring law enforcement into the picture. That seams like a huge pain in the ***.
