Im done with mazdas.

So saturday night i wrapped my car around a 4 inch wide tree... yes a 4 inch wide tree

i hit it going about 20 mph... i fel asleep at the wheel sometime early morning

the tree went all the way to the middle of my engine bay, they had to pry the car from it....

my head went thru the winshield. seat belt broke my collar bone, buste d0out five teeth...

anyways, i thought these cars were more durable... i guess not...i was let down

my own fault for falling asleep, but come on.. a small tree that the only scars it has now is some missing bark...and my car is totaled...

oh wll
adios

sorry about typing i only have one functioning hand tot ype with

people like you should be put to death, its a sports car, not a fall asleep at the wheel and expect it not to be hurt and NO you hit it faster then 20 I can garuntee you I had a almost head on collision in 2 jap cars (one mazda other not) both going rougly 50 and the only damage was the wheels

Well...glad you're okay, but don't disown Mazdas 'cuz of it. FCs are more durable, in my opinion.

1st Gens in my opinion look flimsy!

Four inches or not, it depends on the kind of tree you hit. 20mph would not cause the tree to have jammed half into your engine bay.

Bashing him, guys, won't help.. if he wants to be done with Mazdas, let him. It's his decision.

Yeah, but 20mph wouldn't do that.

It's not a 1.2

The 12A is a 1.1L and the 13B is 1.3L...

The 12A was a "bored-out" version of the 10A - the rotor diameter was the same, but the depth was increased by 10 mm (0.4 in) to 70 mm (2.8 in). Each of its two rotors displaced 573 cc for a total of 1146 cc.

damn I was 2 off and yes they round down why is it called 12A... who cares but its roughly a 1.2L you dont need to be exact

The 13B is the most widely-produced engine. It was the basis for all future Mazda Wankel engines, and was produced for almost 30 years. The 13B is no relation to the 13A. Instead, it is a lengthened version of the 12A, having 80 mm (3.1 in) thick rotors. It had the largest displacement yet at 654 cc, for a total of 1308 cc.

just bareally 1.3L

Wankel engines
Mazda is the only producer of successful Wankel engines, positioning them as a prime sports car powerplant. All of Mazda's Wankels are based on their first design of the 1960s, though there have been significant developments over the four decades since.

Wankel family - 1.0 L-2.0 L Wankel (1967–present)
10A - 1.0 L (1967–1973)
10B - 1.0 L (1968–1972)
13A - 1.3 L (1970–1972)
12A - 1.1 L (1970–1985)
13B - 1.3 L (1973–2002)
20B - 2.0 L three-rotor (1990–1996)
RENESIS - 1.3 L (2004–)

He was close enough for a n00b.

I am sorry to hear you wrecked your car, and it sucks that you are now done with them. I can understand though, I suppose.

I disagree on the 13B being the most popular, most built rotary mazda made.I would think they sold way more 1st gen RX-7's than any other model, and they were mostly 12A's,not to mention the other cars Mazda made with the 12A.I could be wrong though,I am married with children.
