I'm doing it, disown me if you must.
I'm going to port my motor and get it back together to sell, why? I'm doing a V-8 swap, i can get ahold of a Supercharged 351 Windsor for $200, i just hope i can still get ahold of it in a few months.

You don't want to do that, you want to tell me where I can get that Windsor for $200 cause it probably needs money put into anyway. I could supply you with say, a finders fee, if I buy it. You may be able to rebuild and port your motor for around $200, but if you want to replace any hard seals it will be more than that.

The motor was rebuilt recently before i purchased it, i only put about 8,000 miles on it, if that. When it was rebuilt 4 corner seals were not replaced (missing entirely) causing 2 apex seal springs to bend. I'm replacing the springs and corner seals and getting it back together for ~$300-$400.

Yeah, mostly it's just the newbies and "pureists" that have a problem with it.... I've learned to live with it I know Revhead doesn't mind them anymore, and is tired of all the bitching about it...

Or you could tell me where this awful V8 is so I can save you from its terrible piston ways, hell ill even pay you the 300 to rebiuld your motor if I find the this V8 acceptable to put in the 68 Stang

Haha, we'll see, i've dreamed on having a fast V-8 car for a long time and this seems to be my chance. It's not like the conversion can't be undone anyway.

$300-400 is a bit high for a gasket set, apex springs and a couple corner seals.

Ok, I hate the idea, but I'll give some advice... if you want a V8, get a 302 or a 351 Cleavland (sp)
Better yet, I saw a 1st gen with a chevy 283 (aluminum block = lighter) with a corvette tranny. It ran like a bat out of hell (never did top it out, cause it started getting squirly at about 120)!! I just didn't like the sound of it. It sounded like a Chevelle or something.
Good luck. I'd still recommend re-building a rotary, but... it's your car.

351 Cleveland? Like i'd ever be able to find one of those, let alone purchase one. I do want to stick with a Ford motor though.

283's were iron block.
I have most of what is necessary to put a 302 Ford into any 1st-gen. It's all "useless" though (late 70's huge chamber, small port, rail rocker heads, aged C4 tranny) so it's all getting scrapped pretty soon. It's at a friend's house and he needs the space for his Z-car stuff.
Which reminds me... have a series 4 13B over there too. Probably end up scrapping that too, or putting it together and putting it into the GXL which is about equally useful.

Welcome to the dark side. I don't know how much heavier the 351 is, but with the SC set up it's probably going to be 150 ish lbs more than the normal 302. It will be a little front heavy, so expect some plow. I'd plan some suspension mods, and at least stiffer front springs to compensate.

Why would it plow? With all that extra engine braking, lift-off oversteer would be a cinch. And with all that power, power-on oversteer would be a possibility.

If nothing else buy it now and turn a great profit on it.
