Question Ignition System

I have been told (by a good rotary mechanic) that I need to replace most of my ignition Wires,Cap,Rotor and including the coils. I wanted to know what there maybe available and what I can do to make improvments here since I need to replace it all anyway... Hotter Coils? Better Wires? Better Cap and Rotor? Let me know what you know Thanks

*slaps his newbish self*

This post was originally a post asking what DLIDFIS was... not only could a search have answered my question, but a thread ON THE MAIN PAGE tonight had the definition in it!

"Dual Leading Ignitor Direct Fire Ignition System"

For all the bitching I do about how people should use the search, I present my *** for a right kicking :P

L8rs,
Jon

what about using two trailing ignitor direct fire as well with two leading ignitor.

I mean with direct fire to the trailings, it must do more good than bad right, and its not like its a big deal to setup, and it looks cool.

True, but I personally wouldn't bother with Trailing. It only fires once per revolution, has a tiny hole in the rotor housings, adds very little power to the engine (in my 13B, it gave like 1 HP at high RPM/high load and nothing below). In my opinion, it's not worth the time and parts.

My 20B will have TLIDFIS but that's it. I could run Trailing, but I'd rather remove the pickups and reinstall them in a gutted dizzy for use on my half bridged 13B.

That's enough of my Trailing bashing. If you want to get your Trailing to fire directly, please do.

I've had my trailing ignition coil go. I didnt realize it right away so i keept on driving. It shoot my gasmilage to ****. From what i understand about direct connection it is real easy to do with the leading now the trailing is anouther story. Because the trailing both plugs dont run at the same time.

Thats just my 2 cents i could be wrong about some stuff though.
