OR ignition switch installation

do i have to take the stearing wheel off to install my ignition switch? its the whole column lock and assembly for my 83.

well i have an 85 gsl-se and i didnt have to take off any thing from stearing wheel,
all i took off was the plastic around my steering wheel and took off a few other peice's of plastic and i got it out without taking steering wheel out
