Ignition - how to remove

How do you remove the ignition? I noticed there are what looks like two screws, but I see rounded heads on them. Do you punch them through?
Thanks

Cut a slot in the heads of the 2 screws and unscrew them. Those are anti-theft screws. When they were originaly installed and torqued, the slotted/hex heads snapped off.

I was able to get them off with some needle nose vice grips. You can try that if you don't want to grind under the dash. Little more work, but cleaner.

It's not a big deal. Just use a chisel with a hammer, they come right off.

A chisel and hammer is quick and easy. Unbolt the coloum and it will fall down about 6 inches. Butter from there.

LOL..

I had experience taking them out in my car stealing days. So the best replacement for those headless bolts is taking them to a hardware store and matching them with allen head bolts.

It is vise grips, dude. A vice grip is like a Klingon shoulder pinch, except around front and a couple of feet lower. I hate when that happens.

if im in the junkyard, hammer and chisel, if im at the shop, dremel is the tool of choice
when re-installing, i use the front stationary gear bolts with 2 extra washers to raise the bolt head up high enough to clear the upper ignition mounting bracket..its tight in there!

That Duuuude your referring to, is not a dude. Hence the name Kim's (I love 13B's)!
