Ignition choice question.

hey guys!! ok, here is the deal with this thread. i have an s5 that i have been building for the past 2 years. im going carb with a 48dhla, one piece manifold. i have the dizzy and three ignitors. i also have 2 sets of fc coils and 2 blaster2 coils. my main ? in this thread is what should i do for the ignition. i have read alot on dlidfis and the version using the fc coil as the lead. just need some firm opinions on what to do. i'm hopein that i wont have to deal with the guys that hate carb's, by posting here. thanks in advance for the help!

when you say one-piece manifold, would you be using an 6port adapter plate as I havent seen a one piece 6port intake.

Sinceyour starting from scratch, yuo have 3 options: I
DLIDFS
MSD 6A/AL with FC leading coil
MSD 6A/AL with blaster coils

everyhting else is easy and be sure to get a FPR with a return as the stock F/I fuel pump has too much pressure for carb set-up

PM me if you need help and I will guide you on the wiring.

Hard to give someone a firm opinion, since opinions vary. :-)

Best thing to do is read up in the existing threads on all the available options. All of the opinions and feedback from those who have already done this are in the existing threads.

wackyracer- its a one piece/no adapter. i have a carter low pressure fuel pump, holley fpr. which option is best for all around street performance?

fbatman-yeah i used to play there, now im moving to australia to play in the NRL.

rx7doctor-yeah ive read hours and hours of different threads. im the kind of person who is obsessed about studying information. anything i get into i have to know everything. there are just too many variences/opinions and nay-sayers on this forum to get a true definitive answer to ?'s

I agree with Doc. Personally, some of the nay sayers may not have done a quality installation. I personally have seen good results from dilifidis and msd with 3 coils.

Use second gen coils then. Those can be found cheap and are much better.

i acctually have 2 sets of fc coils. how would i wire them up to work with the dizzy?
if i could use the lead coil, then use one of the blaster2 coils as the trailing, that would be great. any info would be much appreciated.

search for 2gcdfis. That will tell you how to wire it up. You'll use 1 FC coil to fire the leading. You can then use your blaser 2 coil or whatever on the trailing.
