Idle doesn't stand...!! HELP

I swapped my 13B engine in my 83 GS. I am running a dellorto DHLA48. When i started the engine the first time, there was a lot of backfires, and the idle wasn't standing, i had trouble to keep her alive... The brand news 13B header turned red. After starting it a few times and running it at 4-5K rpm, the car was revving much better, and there was no smoke. But i have to hold the gas to keep it alive, if i release it, it dies. Some people told me it could be a vacuum leak in the intake manifold.

I am running a RB complete streetport exhaust, dellorto carb, carter fuel pump, RB upper manifold, GSL-SE lower manifold.

I put new gaskets on the intake, i put sealant to be sure that it wasn't going to leak. I plugged 2 of the 4 OMP tubes on the dellorto like it was on the 12a. The 2 other tubes are connected to the motor, but the hoses are cut ?! ...

another problem i have, my temp sensor and gauge doesn't work.

damn, i hope to find the problem

run the car and have somebody spray carb cleaner or brake clean will work too. if the idle raises then you have a intake leak

the temp sensor is on the back of the block by the oil sending unit . the wire color is yellow , is it connected?

that will work, as long as you hold it steady whils somebody sprays the carb cleaner. your symptoms sound like an intake leak
