Unhappy idle is crazy now!!

well there we were, me and the wife, driving down US1 on our way to the movies. I was so happy that i finally fixed my oil leak problem with a new cooler, when suddenly i went to neutral and the idle was stuck on 2K rpm's then it jumped to 23 then back down to 2K, it almost seemed like it was accelerating itself back and forth quickly. there's a long skinny metal line next to the fuel injection system that looks extremely loose don't know what it is. As I was driving it home it went down to 1500 but doesn't go lower than that now. I'll post a pic of the skinny line in the morning. the line thing is at the opposite end of the throttle cable(i think that's what it's called) and it goes down towards the oil metering pump(i think) it follows the skinny oil lines that go down by the exhaust manifold. If I'm talking nonsense please let me know.. any advice will help..

thanks fellas.

Man this is halarious the exact thing happened to me today i just finished putting a new oil line in... Anyways with the car idling pop the hood and change the position of the tie down that is holding your choke cable and throttle cable together when i moved the tie strap thingy closer to the fire wall the idle went back to normal ... This did the trick for me then some more fine tuning and i was off! Good luck i hope that works

ok i know what it is now...it's the screw that holds the throttle cable in place...it keeps jumping to the left when i accelerate, then it sticks to all sorts of idle rpm's is it missing a nut or something?

thanks
