IDA intake manifold battle. Racing Beat vs. Auzzy style

So I've been debating on whether to switch to the Racingbeat style intake manifold on my FB. Dave at Mazdatrix swears the the RB manifold flows better and will make way more power than the Auzzy manifold that I already have on my car. He said back in the day before RB made their manifold he was modding custom Auzzy manifolds for racers and he stopped once the RB ones came out because no matter what he did to the Auzzy manifolds they would never make as much power as the Racingbeat manifolds. I was wondering what everyones experiences with the manifolds were and if anyone else has experienced similar results. I'd like to get to 200whp on my FB before I finish my Bridgeport build.

edit: old intake manifold pix, but you get the idea.

While I have a hard time believing that the manifold alone would net you another 10 horsepower, it certainly may be worth the shot if your willing to put the money into it. With some 91 octane and a little more timing advance, who knows, you just might get there. I'd love to see a 13B carby streetport hit 200 RWHP.

pics no workie, but depending on how bad the AUS intake is, 10hp is totally possible. the length matters a lot too

^ If it was that bad he probably wouldn't have gotten to 190 with it.

I have an Aussie 13B 6 port manifold on my car and I can dig up an RB unit to test(I have a 12A RB unit but that's apples and oranges). Problem is I burned up a couple motors in my big flowbench and my small superflow 110 doesn't have enough *** to do any high depression level tests on something that flows that much.

I may get back to fixing the big bench soon, I've had too much going on and no time to play at the shop lately.

Dave knows what he's talking about period. They make good use of their engine dyno. They made their own manifold for the 2nd gen EP car and shortened the RB one for 1st gen EP.

I will say that the two center ports on the RB manifold are neither the same size, nor level. I had to grind one up and the other down and trim the sides to match them up. Beveled the flange ID's where it meets the carb but besides that great manifold.

Never owned the Aussie manifold but again, Dave knows his stuff. You can always sell your Aussie manifold so why not?
