thats in my dads factory that im currently using as my garage much to his displeasure.
that car is a 1966 plymouth fury extended hearse with 5.2L polysphere V8 and dual chrome exhaust with column shift auto, best decision i ever made was buying that car, bought it for way below its value and i payed 5,000 AUS.

thanks for the comments, i just thought id share with you all coz it makes me so happy.

by the way, that red 79 is the organ donor for the black one which is nearly all back together. ahh the stress of 2 restorations.

Fore runner to the Hemis here were called wedge blocks, but I thought they quit making that version in the late 50's early 60's, unless I missed something in between.

My Uncle had a 56 New Yorker with a wedge block. Previously owned by a bank robber. Had a couple of bullet holes in the trunk from when the State Trropers shot the tires out from under it at 130 mph during a chase. He never would let me drive it.

It wasnt a wedge block.... the wedge was the shape of the combustion chamber in the head. And I dont think it was nessecarily a forerunner to the Hemi, considering the amount of difference between a wedge and a hemisphere.

yeah theyre all now covered in a substantial layer of dust. i bought the red one for 150 bucks and completely stripped it down inside and out. going to rebuild the carby and do some mods to it and then put it on the black one, the engine is just a spare and im putting the gearbox in the black one. the same day i bought it someone offered me 100 bucks for the body on its own. haha, when i brought the red one home from the junkyard it had empty bottles of Victoria Bitter throughout the car.

Being a former Mopar owner, I'll have to disagree with you. It was the wedge design that lead to the later hemi. While they are dis-similiar, the hemi was evolved from the wedge idea.
