This thing is double din, it is silver, it plays cd, cassette, and mp3, and you can adjust the display to 63 different colors to match any interior dash lighting.
What do you think????

Not Bad. Although the 84/85 Radio size is 2.5 Din, not Double Din.
Manntis's Website has a nice option for single Din Radios, with options.
It's available here

The black pockets that the earlier models have in the dash, are they not 1/2 din? Could put one of those in either above or below the radio and take up the rest of the gap and I do not think it would look bad.

I agree with Directfreak - Manntis makes a nice din set up for aftermarket stereo and yes, it is 2 1/2.
I bought one last year, took it to A&B sound - they couldn't make it fit so I took it home and did it myself - nice set up (only I have the cup holder, not the tri gauge set up) - after all the crap I put Manntis through with my belly aching over the initial install, I owe the guy a plug - highly recommended!

Both are created by Sony.
Both do a similar job.
The less popular one is smaller.
The less popular one is better.
I love these discs... Can put 5 hours on a MD, titling and **** can be done... And it's small enough to fit in my shirt pocket...
I woulda gone for an I-pod, but too ****** expensive.
Beta is cool because it's got higher quality audio, and some tapes are capable of 10 hour recordings. I have one downstairs. It's cool.

Only in North America. Travel to the uk, japan, etc and everyone uses them.
If anyone finds a double din, minidisc/cd combo let us know.

Why the hell would anyone put a CD player in an RX-7. I lived with one for a few months in my Thunderbird (think 5000lb floaty land yacht) and I got tired of the CD skipping every time I hit a major bump. In an RX-7 it would be constantly skipping....
- Pete (It plays tapes. It has FM. Modern enough.)

My roommate has *scads* of Minidisc equipment. He has about 200 recorded disks. Two home decks, one car deck, two Diskman or whatever they're called...
If I moved away from tapes, it would be to Minidisc! Now, I just have to wait for Pioneer to make a MD player, since I won't touch Sony crap. (Everything Sony I have ever bought died after a year like *clockwork*)

My portable recordable minidisc unit (the best ever made in my opinion) is over 5 years old and is still alive and kickin' =)
Sony is *the* way to go with minidisc...
But we digress....
Did the MP70 look good in the car?

That's the only reason I kinda wish I had an 84 or 85 GSL.....
I'm having a hard time finding something that looks good in place of the stock 81 or 83 deck....
The silver is much easier to find...
And I definitely want the orange lights, hehe
