Unhappy I smashed up my 7 on saturday night

I was getting on the expressway on my way home saturday night. It had been a rainy wet weekend. I was in 3rd gear excelerating, i was going about 45 when the rear end started to slide out. We spun around about 2 times and smashed the front passenger side into the guard rail, bounced off and spun aroud again. So, yesterday my dad and i assesed the damage. It pushed the radiator back about 2 inches into the fan. and broke the headlight arm. the front bumper is totaly destroyed along, with the header pannel. Since i need a new bumper anyway, i was thinking about getting one with a air dam. Does anyone have any recomendations? And if anyone has any spare fenders or header pannels laying around that you want to sell let me know. Ill take them of your hands. Preferably blue.

Man how much structural is there?? Im thinking its gonna be a little more difficult than slapping some fenders on and a new bumper.

Sorry to hear about your luck man that sucks ***!! I try not to drive my car in the rain whenever possible...

If your radiator is moved you have raditor support damage, thats a weld on part.. Its considered frame damage, but its not too bad to fix...

When i go with the Mariah body kit, you can buy the front end stuff I have

Sorry to hear what happened to your car, and glad that no one got hurt (except the car of course).

IMO the best thing to do is take off as much of the damaged parts and see what needs to be replaced. If you have the tools to straighten metal back into place, then there should be a problem. If you don't, you can always send it to a professional.

Good luck and I hope your RX-7 will be on the road shortly.

Thanks guys. Your right mike, there is more than just body damage. The front support is bent a little, but i dont think its more than we can fix. I dont belive that the fender frame was bent, mostly just the part across the front. Where going to get it up to a better spot to look at it some more later, and continue taking the front end apart. Ill get some pictures on here soon and maybe i can get some opinions.

Thanks again

I have a pair of fenders (front wings) in the exact colour you need ... pity I'm so far away otherwise you could have had 'em cheap ... I'm real sorry to hear about your accident ... sucks don't it I rear-ended another car about 2 months ago ... luckily it was a low speed shunt and I have no frame damage ... just a bent bumper, header panel and drivers side wing ... the biggest dent was to my ego Oh well at least no one was hurt and your rex isn't a write off

I was thinking of getting an airdam too ... but then I bought a parts car and decided to stay stock as we have a lot of speed humps round where I live and I don't plan on bending it again soon

Good luck parts hunting and don't let it get you down

right after it happened i noticed that it pulled to the left but not hard, just barely. My dads going to help me straigten it out. hes a guru when it comes to stuff like that. So i dont think its going to be too difficult. I suspected painting the new parts will cost more than anything else.

eddie, sorry about your luck too. youre sounds more extensive than mine. Although the radiator did get pushed back far enough for the fan to put a big dent it it right on the top. and coolant went everywhere, but i have yet to find a hole in the radiator. By the way, i just bought this radiator no more than a month ago. Dammit!!

Thanks for the offers on the fenders, but it would be hard to mail them so far. I wonder what air dam i could get that wouldnt look silly without a wrap around to match?

I can say one thing for sure, from now on i will always buy good tires and wide wheels.
