i need a transmission

im about to get my engine streetported, and the transmission can barely hold the power i have now. what kind transmissions bolt up to to the 87 na? which ones are best for speed and will hold the power?

when you say holding do you mean the clutch slips. Because just get a centerforce dual friction clutch and pp. No slippage out of my -se with rb exhaust and large street port.

ive got a mazdatrix street/strip clutch. the transmission just seems like its falling apart.

the syncros are pretty messed up. when i start in first it still doesnt want to pull. even with the new clutch. and the shifter will move around A LOT. like circular movement.

Synchros are for wusses.

So are tight shifters. (But this is an easy fix, and any trans you put in will require the use of your old shifter so you'd have to fix it anyway)

Your first gear problem sounds weird. I mean, either a transmission is broken, or it isn't, gears can't slip. Perhaps your new clutch is slipping?
