Hands down, you need to get the Racing Beat rear muffler.
After wasting about $500 experimenting w/ other ****, i ended up right back where i started before the turbo swap. RACING BEAT!!!
I'm serious, its the ONLY way to go. If you can't afford it, save up an extra month and drive someone else's car. ITS THAT WORTH IT!!!!

Yeah, shutup kid.
I need to do something about the noise of my car too. My ears are ringing for an hour if I drive my car for more than 20mins. I love how it sounds though, I think I'm just going to get some nice earplugs

I had the same problem, and after 2 tickets for 110 each, i got smart. My setup was header, to straight pipe to a dual outlet magnaflow. and it was pretty damn loud, even accelerating as slow as i could it was really loud. I took it back to the shop i got it installed, and paid 60 bucks for an all stainless steel baffle style resonator, and its Really quite now. But it still sounds ballsy. what a difference, i'm not embarrassed of the sound anymore, and can come home at 2-3 am and not wake up the neighbourhood. Good luck, just my 2 cents

love the braaaap
Well, I put a partial 3" system on my car (custom of course) with a single in dual out magnaflow and a cherry bomb glasspack right after the exhaust mani (no header yet). It was loud. Not so loud that my ears ring after driving for more than an hour, but loud enough that it has to go. I'm putting in a turbo style muffler after the cherry bomb then it goes over the axle to the magnaflow. Needless to say when its done, there will be a total of mabey 10" of 3" pipe left. The rest will be muffling devices.
I've dealt with turbo style mufflers before, and they have a quiet, deep, and smooth tone to them. Best sounding mufflers besides the magnaflow (which is twice as loud on piston engines). Cheap too. I'm not worried about it burning out too soon, since the cherry bomb was on the car for a month without any problems. I opened it up expecting to see an empty shell, and it doesn't even show signs of melting. The car even ran both real lean and rich for a week while I was tuning the carb.

Im running RB Headers>RB presilencer>2 1/2" pipe> V-Force Muffler. It sounds like a Jet boat out of water, but i havnt gotten any tickets in WA and been using this setup for over 6 months. its Tenny and loud though, but legal. ALSO, its INEXPENSIVE, and has a 1 year warantee.

Not sure if i said this already or not, but you buy the racing beat "road race" setup, or their "dual long primary setup", but you get just the muffler. then you chop off the 2-into-1 collector (its on the over axle), and weld on the 2.5" pipe.
Call racing beat, they'll know what you're talking about.
www.racingbeat.com (for the phone number. the muffler is not listed on the site).
