I need honest opinions

I am thinking of using a few non-rx7 parts on my car. Mainly, a 78-81 camaro Z28 spoiler, cut down for size and using 78-81 Trans Am fender inserts for hood vents. Here are a few links of them so you can see what I am talking about. I would use both fender inserts on the hood.

bad pics but you can get the idea.

The hood vents would be neat due to them being different, if you do a good job in installing them. As for the rear spoiler, just save your beans and get the same style that's made for the 7, it will look better and be less of a hassel.

Hell yeah ! Go for it.

I'm about to put an aircraft filler on the back deck of a Mode One wide body and get rid of my stock filler door.

Considering losing the door handles and getting bumpers.

And if my fiberglass man says he can do it, I'm gonna lose the rear quarter glass, chop my Mariah hatch louvers off the side and extend flat across and make it a real targa instead of hatchback using the factory lip, seal, and hinges.

I say, If somebody else doesn't like your style, then they can kiss my

You shouldn't give a hoot about what anyone else thinks.

Personally, I come from the school that says all those wings and spoilers look like crap and the money would be better spent under the hood or on the suspension. Goes back to the old saying, "You can walk the walk, but..."

Yet everytime I'm out, I feel like I'm an extra in The Fast & The Furious.

Whether it's my taste or not, I know one thing: Those guys are as proud of their car as I am mine.

Do what you want and take the time to do it well. No matter what you do there will be some people who like it, and some people who don't. Create what you like - that's what owning a car is about.

I agree with RXTbone, do what makes you feel good, although we appreciate that you are
asking opinions. In the end you have to be satisified with results. Inventing new ways to do things or adapting is just part of the fun and that what is all about. If we all had the same taste we probably still only have vanilla ice cream, how boring not to have a choice, LOL. rx7doctor

Thanks all for the opinions so far. Currently the score is 5 with Cool and 0 with not cool. Amazing that I have an idea that people seem to like. I will keep you all updated on the progress of this project. I know I will do the vents first because they are cheaper. The spoiler, I am still undecided. Anyone know of a good place to get these from that are aftermarket (vents) or would it be easier to just get ones that are used?

Better yet, use the trans am hood scoop mounted on top of your air cleaner like they do and cut a hole in the hood for it. Talk about cold air!

I have seen that before, the shaker hood in an FB. I am going for something different. I am sure here in a little while ppl are gonna be doing this too. Just like my Personalized plate thread. 2 weeks later, someone in the lounge asked how many cubes a 13B was. Bastards.

Thumbs up

I think the spoiler is a good idea, I always wanted to see/own a rex with a spoiler off a z - just my 2 cents.
