I need help PLEASE!

I have been building a GSL-SE for track and autocross use. It's getting close to being done so I decided it was time to steam clean the engine. I covered all the electrical and stuffed a towel in the intake tube to keep any water out. Did the cleaning and ran out of daylight.
The next evening I go out and uncover everything, make sure there is no water in the dist. cap and fire her up. Runs for about 2 seconds and then dies. I try again and nothing happens just turns over but won't fire up. Seemed like it was flooded. Then I remember about the damn towel. Luckily it did not suck into the engine at all.
So I figure that I starved the car of air, fed to much fuel and it flooded. So I talk with a friend and he tells me about pulling the plugs and coil wires and turn it over to get the fuel out. I do this and it still won't start and seems like it's flooded. I thought that since it's a FI car the fuel is still going in unlike a carbed car so most likely all I did was fed more fuel to the motor.

I am super stuck and need some help. Thanks in advance!

If it still won't start by holding the gas, put a tablespoon or so of automatic transmission fluid in each of the lower (leading) plug holes. Reinstall the plugs and try to start. If and when it does start it will smoke profusely until the ATF burns off. The ATF helps seal the chambers. Be sure to let it warm up before shutting it off.

also, i'm sure there has to be fuse or relay that controls the injectors, so find it and remove it while cranking.

if that still doesn't work, then start from scratch!

- take the plugs out
- crank it (to blow all the fuel out of the engine)
- use a lighter (or gas stove or something) to dry the plugs and heat them. (just make sure you're not near the engine bay!!!!)
- reinstall the plugs and try to fire it up

Just pull the EGI fuse. It is flooded..

If that doesn't work put some ATF in it.

BTW where was the towel?

Hehe, I could see trying to do that right down next to the engine and POOF! Now that would be a humorous sight.

I hope you didnt hydrolock it, get water in the block on the rotors at all, put a small amount of ATF in there with the plugs out, and crank it over... Leave a towel by the plug opening so you dont trash the engine bay with ATF

Put some nice plugs back in and try to fire it up. It will smoke so dont worry, but hopefully that gets you going..

Take the engine fuse out under the dash. Hold the pedal to the floor while cranking for ~10seconds. Put fuse back in and turn it over normally. It should start now. Usually when it floods, you can here the loss of compression due to all the oil being duluted out. So after you do get it running, be sure to change the oil not long after unless you plan on driving a ways so the oil can boil off that gas.

I got out of work late and did not get to try it last night so I am leaving early toady to try and get it running again.

Does anyone know the location of the injector fuse? The chiltons I have only shows early cars without EFI.

The towel was stuffed in the air filter box. In the hole before the MAF.
