yea its a holley off the shelf but i changed the pilots to bigger ones the thing is that when you give it gas lets say from idle to 4rpms it perfect nice and strong but then you step on it and when all four jet are open it dies out on the high pilots
bro sometimes i think am just going to sell it and just stay with my second gen please someone help me i got like 2gz into this engine it was my first project i started when i was 15 i will like to finish it advice is needed help me please rotarykingz
It takes a lil more than a jet change to get an ff the shelf holley to work on a rotary. Dont give up though, it will be worth it in the end! Trust me! Ive been through alot of carbs
If you want to stay with the Holley carb, then buy the modded one from RB. It will save you lots of tuning headaches and all of the mods they perform has yet to be posted in a comprehensive list so that we can do them ourselves. Even with all the years they have been selling thier carbs, seems like no one has yet figured out all of the mods. Btw, 6 psi is the recommended pressure.
I shy away from the Holleys and prefer the aftermarket 2 barrels myself.

Make a different post about your holley and maybe more of the holley gurus on the fourm will pop in and add thier 2 cents.
What you need to find is a puerto rican that knows thier rotarys, they will be able to hook you up with that holley and make it run on a first gen.
When I lived in lousiana, Jose swore by those holleys and made them run good. I dont know what he did, but they ran good. He told me once he learned form the mother land, so Im guessing its commen knowledge over there. I dont know.
Still beat him with my Sterling though lol
