i need a decent muffler

2.5 ID would be awesome, something other than the RB rotor shaped one but what sounds good as well as performs good. I would rather just do it right the first time.

i just made a custom 2 1/2 inch setup with a muffler from vibrant performance that is 2 1/2 inch inlet 4 inch outlet that ive had alot of compliments on. it had a deep rich sound and no high pitched raspyness. it is on the loud side though.... im also running a very small magnaflow igh flow cat right after my RB header. look at vibrant performance s website to check out their mufflers. i got mine off of ebay for a little cheaper though

First choice: Racing Beat 2.5" universal
Second choice: Magnaflow 5x8x18" oval

RB is about $20 more, but is extremely well-built, with a relatively quiet, mellow tone. Very worth it IMO. The Magnaflow has a bit more aggressive, sharp tone, and is louder. I like the Magnaflow on my turbo car, but on an NA car it might be a bit much.

Im just about ready to buy a RB universal. I called up RB today, and he said its quieter than most mufflers out there, but its still a little loud. Its a straight-through system though, unlike the other power pulse muffler which is more baffled. The problem with the Power Pulse is the price, $300. The guy at RB said it is pretty damn quiet, but is it $300 quiet?

Im running a RB streetable header to a [what I believe] Borla XR-1 pre-silencer to a magnaflow now. The magnaflow just makes TOO much noise. I'm heard going all the way down my country road and most people can hear me anywhere when im traveling through the village.

Yes, it's $300 quiet. I ran a full Racing Beat 2.5" with the power pulse muffler on my 12a, and it had a really great tone that was nice and quiet until you got on it. In my opinion, if you want a performance exhaust system that still maintain's good streetability regarding sound, its the best option. Although it's pricey, it's thick steel design will last you quiet a long time.

Yep, the PowerPulse really is that quiet. Too quiet for some. The full short-primary system is not much louder than stock.
