I Might Be Hanging Around Here After All...
So kids, I think I may actually be hanging out in the RX-7 world for a little while afterall. As some of you know, my car was stolen, I got it back, planned a turbo swap, never got around to it because I lost my job, and currently have been trying to sell off everything RX-7 I own. However, after giving it some real thought, I think Im going to keep one for my project - still. So, I just wanted to let some of you know that ever since the engine in my Toyota 4x4 blew, and Ive been driving my 85 GSL with RB exhaust again, Ive fallen in love with these dang things all over again, so I cant bring myself to get rid of them all. However, it kind of depends on if I can move the rest of them so I only have the one. If not, they all need to go. I know its a kind of pointless post, not really technical or anything, but you guys know me here, so I thought this to be a semi appropriate place for it.

They always pull you back.... I sold off all my rx-7's a few months ago and was (for the first time in 8 years) without an RX-7. 2 days later a buddy of mine drops by the house with a 1983 and asks me if I wanted it... Of course I said yes and now am back to modding and prodding...Glad to hear it.

Rollin' coal and 53mpg!
I knew you'd be back... it's like a sickness... or even a drug. Such as crack. One time of revving to 9k, and then it's all worth it again.

Haha, yeah. Well, I just got a job yesterday, so hopefully Ill pay off what I owe on my Toyotas engine really soon, and Ill be able to save for a used engine for my new project car, hopefully one that will have a little snail looking thingy stuck to the side of it.

The rotary must have spoken to you. I bet it said something like,
"Your life as it has been, is over."
"From this time forward, you will service... us."

Glad to have you back and can't wait to see your project take shape. I know this probably sounds rather odd, but just from reading through all your past posts and sort of riding your coat tails on many of my projects, you remind me quite a bit of myself. I looked through your whole cardomain page, and your writing style, as well as your "mechanical" style reminds me more and more of my myself. You do your "writeups" much like I do, you take a crapload of digital pictures when somethin' is not working and you need help, you fix things the same exact way I would fix them, you're the same age, and last your 83 GSL reminds me of my 85 GS project A LOT. I never really got acquainted with you since you left kinda the time I showed up, but I must say I can tell you definitely left your mark here. Every time I get on here and search through the old 1st gen material, you are always the one that posted exactly what I'm trying to find, or the picture I've been attempting to locate. I can tell you're a pioneer here, and I hope that you find luck with your restoration efforts. With that being said, Welcome back!

Wow man, that means a lot, thank! I wouldnt call myself a pioneer, I would call myself someone that came hear and learned a lot from the knowlegeable people that were here, then put it to use, err something, lol. I dont know, I never really thought about it before, but I have been around here a while...Wow. Well, Im glad that someone got some use out of my stuff, I enjoyed doing what I did with that last car, and I hope this next one will be just as fun. Although, its already fairly well documented what I want to do with it. I just need to fund it. Im pretty much going to be following in the footsteps of another forum member this time, one by the name of Rex4Life . I hope someday it will be done The prices on the engines have come down a lot since I last looked at them, so getting the engine and tranny isnt too hateful, its all the other **** that gets ya!

PS - Rex4Life, if you read this, did you ever get a cost total for your project broken down? I dont remember seeing one, and if you dont mind sharing it with someone who wants to do exatly what you did, I would like to see it

Haha, yeah, no kidding. All I did was post stuff like this, just stupid little comments that arent really needed, lol. Nah, I asked A LOT of dumb questions in the beginning, but then again, who doesnt? I dont remember Carl ever asking a question, and if he did, it was always something way above my scope of knowledge. He was usually the one helping me, or hooking me up with stuff to help me out, and I appreciate members like him more than I can ever say. Even Manntis back in the day hooked me up with stuff. Mike-P-28 helped me with some really stupid stuff back in the day too. Theres more, but I dont feel like sitting here and thanking everyone individually, lol.
